  • Hand Washing
  • Hand washing is the gentlest method for washing satin items. Follow these steps for hand-washing satin:

    1. Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water and add a mild detergent. Avoid using hot water, as it can damage the fabric.
    2. Soak the satin item in the water for a few minutes, gently agitating the fabric to loosen any dirt or stains.
    3. Rinse the item thoroughly with lukewarm water until all the soap is removed. Avoid wringing the fabric, as this can cause wrinkles and damage the fabric.
    4. Gently squeeze out any excess water, but do not wring the fabric.
    5. Hang the satin item on air dry, avoiding direct sunlight and heat. Do not tumble dry, as this can cause shrinkage and damage the fabric.

  • Machine Washing
    1. Put the satin item in a lingering bag to protect it from getting caught or snagged during was cycle.
    2. Wash the item on a delicate cycle using cold water and mild detergent.
    3. Avoid using fabric softener, as this can leave a residue on the fabric and dull the shine.
    4. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry, as excessive heat can damage the fabric.

Warning: Satin can shrink in the washing machine if it is not washed and dried properly. To avoid shrinking, it is recommended to wash satin in cool water and hang it to dry or dry it on a low heat setting. Avoid hot water, high heat settings, and frequent washing, as these can cause shrinkage.

    IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER

    RINSING

Rinse the satin garment thoroughly, making sure to remove all the soap suds. Use cool water to rinse, as hot water can cause the satin to shrink. Repeat the rinse process until all the soap has been removed.

    REMOVE EXCESS WATER

After rinsing, gently press the satin item to remove any excess water. Do not wring or twist the fabric, as this can cause damage. Instead, gently press the water out with your hands or use a clean towel to blot the item.

    AIR DRY

Hang the satin item up to air dry, making sure it’s not in direct sunlight. Do not use a dryer, as the heat can cause the satin to shrink and lose its luster. Leave the garment to air dry completely, which may take several hours.

    IRON THE ITEM

Once the satin item is completely dry, you can iron it if desired. Set your iron to the lowest heat setting and use a pressing cloth to protect the fabric. Move the iron gently over the satin, taking care not to leave any iron marks.

    STORAGE

When storing satin items, it is important to keep them in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing satin items in direct sunlight or heat, as this can cause fading and damage to the fabric.

It is also important to fold satin items neatly and avoid creasing, as this can cause permanent wrinkles.
