The Best Fashion Instagrams of the Week: Marc Jacobs, Bella Hadid, and More
Amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, self-isolation has become the term of the moment. Small wonder then that Zoom, a popular video conferencing app that allows for multiple users, has emerged as a coping mechanism for folks looking to stay connected, with everything from corporate meetings to happy hours and birthday celebrations going online. Charli XCX has been getting in on the action. Dressed in an eye-catching plaid crop top and matching mini skirt, the British singer announced that she would be DJ’ing a set for @clubquarantine, a virtual queer party, on her Instagram.
While some have diving headlong to the digital world, others have been retreating to the analog safety of their own homes. Marc Jacobs has been serving up dazzling #OOTD from his bedroom, for example. Being indoors isn’t cramming his style though: He posted a glamorous mirror selfie in an emerald green blazer with a pair of cropped black pants and silver platforms. Danielle Steel, best-selling author and couture fashion week maven, has her own stylish creature comforts. She posed on Instagram wearing a pink sweater emblazoned with Miss Piggy. “I get to wear all the silly things from the back of my closet, or whatever cheers me up.”
Ukrainian model and stylist Sasha Melnychuk has found ways to channel her love of fashion into a good cause. To help alleviate the current scarcity of medical supplies, she’s been hard at work creating masks for @masks4medicine in calming hues of yellow and cream. Melnychuk used old Ikea fabric and a pattern created by the designers of Coperni to make the mask she’s wearing with a pair of tie-dye sweat pants and an oversized white T-shirt. It’s the kind of resourceful selfie style that’s well worth sharing.
