The 3 Things Keeping All the Pretty Birds’ Tamu Mcpherson Sane During Self-Isolation
Every week, Vogue will be spotlighting tastemakers across industries to hear how they’ve been approaching self-care during the coronavirus pandemic. We asked Tamu Mcpherson behind All the Pretty Birds who is currently residing in Milan to give us an inside look into how she’s been keeping sane during self-isolation—from podcasts to her favorite Netflix shows, here’s how she’s approaching life at home.
1. I listen to this episode of Tara Brach's podcast:
It’s really helped me work through my feelings and emotions related to this intense moment. I follow her meditation practice which uplifts my spirit.
2. I’ve watched the Italian top 10s on Netflix:
3. I work out most days of the week:
We have an old treadmill that I’ve dusted off, and I walk or jog on it at least 30 mins a day. If I am up to it, I will complete one of the many fitness challenges my friends have sent me. My healer explained to me that this is a period of rest and we should all take it easy. Therefore, I don’t push myself like I normally would. My routine really helps to work out the kinks in my body and get the endorphins flowing, which is an additional way to raise your spirits and reduce the stress associated with this lockdown.
